This is a question that I get a lot from my couples so I thought that it would be best to make a little blog post on it.
So, here are some of the BEST locations for your engagement session in Northern Ireland.
The Dark Hedges
The Dark Hedges has become an iconic location since the hit tv show Game of Thrones. You won’t scroll too far on Instagram without seeing a photo from this location. Even though the council has tried to control the tourists that come and go from here, it is still quite a popular spot.
I recommend that if you’re thinking about getting photos here then to plan a shoot at sunrise. The Irish aren’t known for being early risers so you’re more likely to get the dark hedges to yourself when having your session at this time.
The Mourne Mountains have some of the most breathtaking landscapes known in Northern Ireland. Various routes are easy to trek so that you can get high enough for some killer photos. I would recommend on a sunny day that you do this session at sunset, you thank me later.
Dunseverick Castle, hidden away on the Causeway Coast this location is becoming a popular place for photos. At Dunseverick Castle you have a beautiful backdrop of old castle ruins from the 5th century and also the rugged Atlantic Ocean. The good news is that there isn’t too much trekking involved to get killer photos in this sweet spot!
You can probably tell by now that we are fans of the locations around the North Coast… My last recommendation is the Mussenden Temple. Inspired by the temple of Vesta in Tivoli, it overlooks Downhill Beach and of you keep venturing down the cliff you can find a little hidden railway track. I loveeee this spot!
I hope that this has helped you see some of the most beautiful landscapes Northern Ireland has to offer for your engagement session.
