When Candra and Wes first got in touch to chat about her 20 year anniversary session in Northern Ireland, I couldn’t be any more excited! They were making a big anniversary trip around Ireland with their son to celebrate and decided book a photoshoot to mark the occasion.
As Candra is a photographer herself, I knew from talking with her about her vision for this Castle ruins photoshoot, that it would be nothing short of unique! I love that she took the time to make her own cape for the dress… she spent hours the day before with Kim from Victoriana Floral designing the bouquet, had her make up done beautifully by Hayley Hill and the rings had sentimental value as they had been in their families for years. I also LOVE that their lovely son Wesley was a part of it too!
We started at sunrise at the famous Game of Thrones location, The Dark Hedges. The sun peaked out just as we were starting and we got a few beautiful golden light photos, but the atmospheric photos in the dark hedges itself turned out incredibly.
We finished off the session by heading to Dunluce Castle, which is a historic site of stunning castle ruins right on the Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland. The three of them braved the strong winds and bitter cold on an April morning as we explored along the coastline and it was every little bit of magical.
